Did R Regan only get elected because Frank Sinatra switched from Democrat to Republican at that time?

1. No. People hated Jimmy Carter we had 10 percent inflation and high unemployment. He had no chance to get reelected. Frank Sinatra was a friend of Reagans when they were in hollywood. I think he had an affair with Nancy Reagan.
2. No. Mr. Sinatra had only one vote and Mr. Reagan's victory at the poles was enormous. The effect of a celebrity on an election has not yet been truly important. I doubt if it ever will be.
