Downloaded blu-ray movie isn't playing properly on my computer should I convert it to something else?

I've downloaded a movie which was originally a blu-ray movie converted into an mkv file format, but the file doesn't play well on my computer and I think it has somethig to do with the file size (4.37GB!). Should I convert this movie to a format that will reduce the filesize; will that solve the problem, perhaps Divx, or will converting the file to Divx not accomplish anything? What do you think I should do?

  1. What operating sistem do you have? If xp, download k-lite codec pack http://www.filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/ If it's vista, you will have more troubles, try looking for that same program for vista. You can also try any video editor to conver the file into avi, with the movie in avi format, k-lite codec pack installed and XP as OS, I'm pretty sure you will be able to watch the movie GARANTIED or Money back, lol. it's true!
  2. Gomplayer will play all file types, including .mkv, divx, .avi, .flv and many more Install player, then go to preferences - others - select all File Types - Codec http://www.download.com/GOM-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10551786.html
  3. shrink it, google shrink its free software to use ,cheat it with dvd4free and dvd jeanie thats free too if that dont work try ghost dvd 21 days trial with dvd4free running and the genie
