Ray Charles Music

Why don't most modern black people produce their own music?

What happened to Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Tupac... They produce commercial crap nowadays. that I don't dare watch music channels. Why don't they play any instruments anymore... an acoustic guitar seems to be too complicated for them. Back in the 60's-90's a guitar was a pre-requisite for any musician. Why don't they write their own songs? The lyrics are atrocious, nothing profound or beyond the capabilities of a pre-schooler. Do they lack musical talent and creativity that they resort to sampling aka stealing, every superior song they can find? ... Timbaland.. Kanye West - INGREDIENTS TO $$$ - Steal an unknown song with a good rhythm, overlap it with lyrics consisting off sex, drugs and parties to appeal to the massess, place an overused video consisting of pornstars. Straight to No.1!! The talent is overwhelming!! And that worst thing is.. they think they're the king of the world for producing shit ... Quote: "That's how you attack a king? You attack moi?" - fat timbaland. or even worse look at how cocky that illiterate kanye acts! Why do we call them musical geniuses, when my band is original and actually possess talent? Why are they making millions, when other bands and artists assert more effort but can barely earn a living... c'mon this doesn't make sense in society!! Have we lost our sophistication that we now settle for mediocrity? This decade in my opinion has to go down as the worst in history. Oh and on top of that, I realised they can't sing and use voice enhancers! Imagine watching them live... the hilarity!! I'm not generalising an entire race... just the majority of that race who produce this music.

  1. I agree with you hands down. I cant even listen to the radio anymore. And didn't get me started on sampling. A little while ago they were sampling CHILDREN'S SONGS! If you honestly cannot come up with your own stuff and have to resort to using a child's song, and you still get number one, you know something is wrong with the world. I am 15 and white. I have nothing against black people, but I can't stand, for lack of better term, "niggers". Not to say that there are white people like this too, but they're illiterate and they live off drugs and sex. And that's usually who ends up making the music, while disgracing and creating more stereotypes for their own race along the way. Rap used to be an art form. I may never have liked it, but I respected it. I can't respect this "music" on the radio today. I can honestly only listen to either A. 90's alternative rock, or B. Today's local bands and indie artists, save for a few good mainstream artists. In conclusion, I agree with you and feel sorry for your, myself, and our fellow musicians. If you have any music online, I'd like a listen. *End Rant*
  2. I can't see it being any different to the vapid synthesized commercial pish that fills the charts and is produced by white people. No difference whatsoever. I know from previous questions you have asked that you are racially prejudiced, and I think you are looking at the situation with that bias already in place. All these artists and producers are merely giving the music buying public what they demand. Your band does not meet a market need, therefore you will remain unsuccessful and bitter. Best of luck!
